Electric Operation

Welcome to the website Elek­tri­sche Bah­nen for those in­teres­ted in elec­tric opera­tion on rail­ways, espe­cially in Ger­ma­ny. Since 1900 the term "Elek­tri­sche Bah­nen" de­scri­bes in gen­er­al all in line trans­port sys­tems in elec­tric opera­tion mode. The first elec­tric powered run was pre­sen­ted 1879 by SIEMENS in Ber­lin (Ber­li­ner Ge­wer­be­aus­stel­lung). This was the beginning of electromobility, a now excessively used term.
